Borders are closed except for Brazilians, but difficult to find flights. Shipping ports on excepting essential goods.
Stressful on pets in normal times, now really tough.
Take care and suggest waiting.

Hi, Vera,

You'll probably want to wait now until the coronavirus crisis is resolved.聽 聽Access to Brazil is now shut down, and while you're exempt from the closure as a Brazilian, arranging transportation of any kind will be very difficult.

As for moving, you're permitted one duty-free sea shipment and one duty-free air shipment of personal and household goods.聽 聽The regulations are detailed, complex, and must be followed to the letter - you know how the Receita Federal is!聽 You need a mover that has experience moving people to Brazil, and has a reliable partner on the Brazilian end to complete your move, so be sure to ask about that specifically when you start contacting movers and asking for quotes.聽 I had a good experience with Allied; they're owned by Sirva, a large global logistics company that's also strong in Brazil.聽 North American Van Lines is also a Sirva affiliate.
Planning to return sometime this year or next year, not in a hurry.Any experience with shipping pets, a company in the US or Brazil, very concerned, have a large dog 55 pounds and a cat. He'll be on a flight with me.Great I found new friends in ExPats.
Thank you for the information regarding North American Van Lines.I'll take my time, planning in two, three years as I have real estate in the US to deal with before leaving.Just today found out a great website located in Sao Paulo, email for questions:info@thebrazilbusiness.com聽 Lots of information about everything in Brazil, laws and a variety of subjects for those returning to Brazil, business, immigration, etc. Thanks again.
