how is the corona virus infections in Ecuador?

Ecuador is in a transition period with covid.  Anyone who claims s/he can predict how this will turn out probably doesn't know Ecuador.

One reason is changes in leadership.  A new president was elected yesterday, Guillermo Lasso.  His promises, largely economy-related, do not necessarily fit with any curtailing of business or schools that might be deemed necessary to reduce covid impacts.

Lasso is not yet inaugurated (May 24) and will have to develop covid policies in the next few weeks and months based on covid realities and tendencies.  Meanwhile, the outgoing president, Lenín Moreno, had his hands tied by the Constitutional Court.  A 30-day emergency declaration he issued was ended two weeks in, eliminating curfews and restrictions of some businesses, as of last weekend.

The other leadership issue is at the Ministry of Health.  There have been four different ministers in charge of the department this year, three in the last 42 days.  The last health minister to be fired caught covid a few days before he was terminated .. went into quarantine .. and then was fired by el presidente when a ministerial decision resulted in some Ecuadorians enduring a five-hour wait for a covid injection.

Thanks for all that good information. It seems same as here in the US NOBODY really knows much about this virus and its life cycle as well as the vaccines which are fighting each other to see who is remaining victor and the one to take home the pile of Dollars! They all send out info pretending to know and hiding behind their health titles to disseminate non qualified or backed up with science information.
