Introducing myself as a new member

ssocha

I'll be moving to Cuenca later this year.  I was born in the United States and currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have a little bit of expat experience, as I lived in Japan waaaaaay back around 1985, just after I graduated from California Polytechnic University, Pomona with my BA degree in Behavioral Science. Not wanting to get "stuck" in one country my entire life, it was important for me back then that I lived in a different country for a while, so that I could always look back and know I could do it. More recently, I stayed in Guatemala for a month to take an immersive Spanish language course. I've been learning about Cuenca and I'm looking forward to making it my home.

A big thank you to those who have set up and maintain this forum for Cuenca.

Welcome to ´ó¿§¸£ÀûÓ°Ôº, ssocha ...

Cuenca is a worldclass Expat location, especially for first-time Expats.

For an experienced Expat such as yourself, I would ask.. why are you choosing Cuenca and not Quito?

Congrats on your decision to make Ecuador home!

I'm not sure how to answer you, cccmedia. Quito was never a consideration for me, I don't know why you mention it.
