hello! im a single mom planning on moving to ecuador.
im moving to Cuenca because the cost of living is cheaper than the US.

i was wondering if Cuenca gives health/dental/eye insurance as i get it here for free.

for schools, i was planning on enrolling my son in a private school, but is it challenging? he's very smart and i just dont want to ruin it. i know he could get a good education here, but im planning on going to college over there myself.
any recommendations? for private schools for a first grader? i would like to know any websites too that i can check out. Would like an all english school.

same goes for myself. i would like to know any private colleges out there? i read that some private schools dont care if you pass, they just want the money. i dont want to be in a college like that. i want to be a CPS worker, social worker.

please any information will help me.

In order for you and your children to live in Ecuador, each of you would need a residency visa.

To get information on Ecuador residency visas for US citizens you can visit the website of the Ecuador embassy in Washington DC.

You'll note that the link above is the 'English' version.

If you go there, and then to the right-hand column choosing "IMMIGRANT VISAS FOR RETIREES, INVESTORS AND OTHERS"

You will find yourself on this page - Immigrant Visas
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS,聽 which has a link at the bottom of the page, "For detailed information about requirements for immigrant visas, please check the following link".

And upon clicking that link you will find yourself here: 聽 A 404 page

This should give you your first clues as to how do-able it may be to move you and your children to Ecuador.

But persistence pays, and it is never wrong to follow your dreams.

1. You have to pay for health insurance.

2. Smart is relative, there鈥檚 also the matter of which grade, but if you are serious about your child鈥檚 educational future then do your due diligence and begin by contacting possible schools and inquiring about curriculum and syllabus. Foresight will also be in the best interest of your child, so while a student might be challenged at primary level, will they be challenged through grades 9-12? IMO, this is where many families sacrifice their children鈥檚 potential because it鈥檚 costly to enroll a child in schools that offer advanced courses, especially in sciences and math.
