Guys thanks for the advice. Went around and was directed to a hardware store (ferreteria), which only had a leather cleaner, then decided to try Kywi, and Bingo, found a leather conditioner and protector (Cuero Acondicionador y Protector) made by Binner. I was hoping to find Honey Leather, but this will suffice.

ccc, you got me thinking horses, can you recommend a place to ride horse within Quito, or not too far from the center.

I recall recommending Green Horse Ranch outside Quito, whose horseback tours typically take one around an extinct volcanic crater.

You won鈥檛 find dude ranches inside the city limits .. and probably won't find a place where you can ride a horse for 45 minutes and then back in the stable.

The more typical offering is a half-day ride in countryside outside Quito鈥檚 city limits.

If you google Horseback Ride Quito, you鈥檒l bring up the Green Horse Ranch and other places offering these tours in areas near Quito.

I personally don鈥檛 like to be on horseback for more than half an hour at a time, so I can鈥檛 recommend any of the horse haciendas from personal experience.
