English Speaking Psychologist in Montevideo

Buen dia a todos!

My name is Jennifer, Ive been living in Montevideo now for two years. I am working legally, therefore have my sociedad SMI covered under the BPS.

I have been attempting to see a psychologist now for the last 6 months, had a trial with two different ones through the SMI doing the sessions in spanish. (My spanish is quite okay for surface conversation). At the end of 5 sessions, each one told me i need to find a psychologist that speaks English, they just could not help me any further with the problems of the language barrier.

Unfortunatly within the SMI, there is not one psychologist that speaks English. I have been consulting privately from certain recommendations, always leading down the wrong path. The British Hospital offers English speaking psychologists with sessions around $1000 for an hour. Which with my salary of 90 pesos an hour, can not even begin to think to pay.

If anyone may have had a similar situation, or knows anyone they can recommend that is willing to work with the SMI, or offer services at an affordable amount, please contact me.

Hello Jennifer. I m Cesar from Montevideo. I ve been seeing a psichologist (a sapanish speaking one). I will try to look an english speaker one. I don t think he or she will charge you less than $ 800 pesos. My therapist charges me $ 650 pesos .An english speaking therapist will charge you. $ 700 or $ 800 pesos probably, because of the high speecialism work. This psicologist mus understand and speak p茅rfect enflish. It is a very high responsability for these future person. You must be very carefully. Remember that this person will become a sort of big "friend", knowing a lot about you and your life. Regards, Cesar

I鈥檓 looking to immigrate to Uruguay. I鈥檓 looking to visit in the middle of the summer and in

I have the same concerns as Jennifer. Jennifer, I didn鈥檛 understand what SM meant. Is that the local insurance?聽 Did you mean $1000 USD for an hour of therapy or 1000 pesos?
