My expat journey

Rennes, Brittany, France
After eight wonderful years spent in Mauritius, I moved to Rennes with my partner. I am a freelance editor, proofreader and transcriber.
I specialize in web and print writing and revision of texts and sites. I also do some editing and transcription.
A real favorite for Brittany, especially since Rennes is halfway between our two families. A practical, charming and dynamic city where the opportunities seem quite nice, we couldn't ask for more!
Childcare issues, increases in the cost of living, taxes and social charges, the reluctance of some towards a foreign culture and skin color

R茅gion centre, Mauritius
Installed since August 2009, quite a few moves, numerous discoveries, photos, meetings here and there.
After a brief stint in the press, I think I have found my place in the world of web writing. I was a freelance editor, translator and audio transcriptionist.
The accessibility of the job market, the training opportunities that I would never have had in France, the beach and the good weather, the beautiful landscapes.
The garbage dump that nature is for many residents, the "enba lao" measures cobbled together as best they can for education, health, the economy (in short, everything!), cronyism, administrative delays, incompetence in many areas, stray dogs or, non-stray but mistreated dogs, obsolete buses, etc.

Paris, France
My entire educational journey, and perhaps the intention to return there in a few years... We'll see!
Ease of public transport (despite strikes), medical comfort, modernity, access to culture, quality of education, open-mindedness
Winter, the cold that can be seen on many faces, the winter-summer time changes, the dim days, the numerous taxes
