About
As a couple, 4 children aged 7 to 14.
a first experience each of us abroad, 15 years ago... and the desire to leave again, together, before having to leave an elder behind while studying: So, it's decided, it's for now!
England reached out to us at the end of February 2016 and everything happened very quickly:
Choice of a region, location of schools, infrastructure and transport, ... a quick visit which allowed us to choose our small town halfway between London and Cambridge, with places available for the 2 oldest.
Finalization of the move, sorting out what we will leave for a "just in case" in France, goodbyes for everyone's friends and we reunited the family in April on the British side.
We are renting and will remain so despite the shrinking of our space, Brexit quickly answered some of our beginner questions... (. )
Places in local schools are expensive here, and I don't regret our arrival during the year. Certainly harder for children with an enormous amount of work to find connections between their French level and the English program, the joys of end-of-year exams, etc. But also and above all:
The benefit of the 鈥渘ewbie鈥 side which allowed them to immediately come into contact with comrades,
3 months of immersion to familiarize yourself with the language,
...And the gentle discovery of the climate (gulps!!!) at the end of spring and summer.
(Although I admit it: a little rough, the heating in July :-))
Our credo: make connections, discoveries and discoveries!!!
My questions after 5 months:
CNED or not...
Fund for French people abroad or not...
see you soon!
