Sur mon lieu d'habitation, Guadeloupe
We still live in the mainland, as soon as we have sold our house, we want to live in Guadeloupe, buy a single storey house in the lowlands, functional to accommodate two elderly people. I am currently a host family for elderly people at my home, approval was issued to me by the general council for two elderly people for 10 years already and I would like to practice this profession again which I like in Guadeloupe. The renewal which is done every five years has just been issued to me again for five years from now.
In this job I know how to do everything: get them up, put them to bed, wash them, walk them, feed them, supervise them etc... I followed training which is compulsory and did internships.
In this job I like practically everything, to do this job you have to love older people because it is a vocation, it is a very rewarding job.
The most annoying thing is when you find yourself having an elderly person who runs away due to their illness such as Alzheimer's disease for example.
