About

Hello everyone ! I am Belgian born in Brussels but of Spanish origin. I have lived in Budapest for 16 years with a short break of 3 years in Los Angleles in the USA. But in fact I have lived all over Europe in general. I work in the IT sector and I speak 6 languages fluently including Hungarian. Hungary really has to hang on... :D Logic remains at the border, then the struggle begins! :D I went to work in Dublin in April 2010, but after 3 months I thought that a much lower salary in Budapest but with a much more exciting life was better than a bunch of euros every month that I didn't have much to do with in Dublin. In fact, rain, pubs and beer are not really my cup of tea! Unfortunately on the financial side in Hungary it's not really the gold rush and here I am probably back in Dublin in January 2011 having successfully completed my interview for HP in Dublin. Does that make you laugh? Me a little less! :D
Interests: sport, manger... :-), manger,

My expat journey

belgiumhungary
Budapest, Hungary

Since Dec 1998

Budapest, Hungary

In fact when I arrived in Budapest in 1998 I had a professional occupation that was really very financially interesting. On working days I earned 2.5 times the average Hungarian monthly salary. With the crisis, work quickly became increasingly rare and I had to get into the work/sleep routine using the languages I speak fluently. In the meantime I succeeded in what I had waited several years for, buying my apartment and it was important for me to pay for it in cash because given the instability of jobs I did not want to be tied to a bank. I have no concrete plans in Budapest, I live there in my charming apartment in the city center. From time to time I have to go abroad again in order to work for a decent salary because in the sector in which I work in Budapest the salaries are very low.
I work in the IT technical support, customer support sectors. Besides, I practice a lot of sport and have done so for over 30 years. In particular, I have been going to fitness centers 6 times a week for 28 years now. In summer or if it doesn't rain I cycle a lot outside of Budapest and sometimes I even go to work by bike.
The reasons why I came to Hungary are very specific. But to say what I like here is rather very mixed and too long to explain I think...
The lamentable mentality and phlegm of the Hungarians.
