About me

American

Lives in Durham County, North Carolina

Speaks English, elementary Spanish, a tiny bit of French from high school

Registration: 13 December 2010

About

Originally from the US and an early retiree, my husband and I owned a condo on the beach in Ambergris Caye, Belize where we lived full-time for 1.5 years (Aug. 2011 - Mar. 2013). We returned to the US to continue travel adventures. Spent 1.5 years traveling all over the US, then spent a year in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. We then spent three years back in the US traveling full-time in a motorhome, spending winters in Florida. Then back to Mexico in 2018, to the Yucatan Gulf coast in a small village called Chuburna, where we spent 17 months. Now we're back in the US in my home state of North Carolina.
Interests: hiking, dogs, cooking, reading, birding, cycling, travel,

Our biggest challenge was and continues to be the language barrier. We have studied Spanish online and through audio courses for years, and we speak it as much as we can when we are out and about in Mexico, but it just doesn't come very easily ... Read More

Seems like ours took about three weeks! Keep checking the INM site with the login credentials they supplied you in case the email gets lost in the mail. :-) Read More

I have a VPN but am not able to watch TV shows after the fact on abc.com or cbs.com using it -- I'm not really sure why, but I get an error message. However, SmartDNS worked for me, and the cost is very reasonable. It also allows access to ... Read More

Hulu finally figured out that people were using VPNs and started blocking them some years ago. It seems like the "hola" extension for some browsers (including Chrome) used to work with Hulu, but they may be blocking that now as well. It ... Read More
