I searched the forum and while I found some ATM info, most of it was over 3 years old and I am looking for some current information please. I have a few questions... 1.) What are the Best ATMs to use assuming you don't have a Card that offers ...
Most ATM's charge about 175 to 200 pesos per withdrawal. In Las Terrenas I found the most expensive one so far is Scotia Bank, but they are all different. Your withdrawal limit is as per your bank or credit card. Hope this helps. Read More

I don't know for sure if we had hurricane force winds here in Las Terrenas, but it looked and felt like we did. Lot of damage, the storm surge cost us a lot of beach and trees along with it, plus some large portions of road washed away. Read More

Las terrenas has survived, Just. I am thankful that we didn't get devastated like some of the other islands, but it is a mess. Wind and rain just easing off now. Too loud to sleep last night, and stayed awake worrying the night before :( Read More

I came through just 4 weeks ago and they did not do fingerprints on anyone that I saw. It took anywhere from a few minutes to 3/4 of an hour or so to clear, depending where you were in line. Read More

I purchased a one year visa online through the Dominican Republic Embassy. It was the same $10 fee, but good for a year. Never thought to look into whether you could renew it. Would be good to know. Read More
