About

I am a Hungarian born American retired woman considering moving back to Budapest. I've lived in the United States since 1974. My business background is in high-end sales and finance in commercial real estate, art, and investments (worked as stock broker/financial advisor at Morgan Stanley brokerage). I am an exhibiting painter, and a writer - published over 300 articles (mostly news and political opinion pieces) via online magazines on the Internet. I have a pension of about $1,500 US (about 400,000 forints) per month and looking to either have a part time job, or sell my paintings at art galleries to earn another 50,000 to 100,000 forints per month. I am a sophisticated world traveler, having visited 31 countries and over 250 cities around the world. Recently lived in Fiji for three months and now back in Sydney, Australia where I have been staying since leaving California in August 2016.
Interests: writing, painting

My expat journey

hungaryitalyusausaaustralia
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

2016 - 2017

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

Worked on various projects
Currently retired was in Business/finance/legal
I traveled the world, but have never been in a place with a better climate...
Compared to the U.S., they are a little backwards in business.

Palm Desert, California, USA

2008 - 2016

Palm Desert, California, USA

Palm Desert, California. Went there to start new life after business collapse and divorce.
Managed investments for private investors at the large brokerage firm Morgan Staney for a while trading stocks and bonds on the stock market. Did freelance writing for local CBS TV affiliate. Manged an upscale art gallery on weekends and was writing books.
With the exception of the summer heat, it is a real paradise to live in. Loved the daily hikes in the bare California mountains!!! And of course, it is in America! I was able to start a new life after the collapse of my business and divorce. There is no country like the U.S. I loved it and everything that it had to offer to someone who wanted to make the most of life!
Summer heat at 45 to 52 celsius was a killer, even though it was dry heat. Had to get my hiking done by 7 am in the morning to avoid a heat stroke...

Newport Beach, California, USA

1998 - 2006

Newport Beach, California, USA

Newport Beach, CA. Fabulously beautiful and EXPENSIVE place. Lived in luxury apartments with my own gorgeous upscale office across the street. Had Jack Russell terrier; worked out, looked good and eat well. Traveled and worked in business with husband. Life was good, until it was not when the business collapsed...
Had good commerical real estate finance business with then husband dealing with German investors equity financing large-scale commerical development in U.S. specializing in mega-shopping centers
What a life-style! The best of everything! Beautiful people; best food, world-class shopping; impeccable quality of everything... (I should know; I traveled the world and have seen the best of the best from Europe to Hong Kong)
What a life-style! The best of everything! Beautiful people; best food, world-class shopping; impeccable quality of everything... --- Fine when you have lots of money, but not fun if you don't
