About

Married to a Mauritian who never adapted to life in France, I settled permanently in Mauritius with my wife and children upon my retirement from the CEA Saclay (Atomic Energy Commission). We live well and happily, despite a virtual absence of cultural life. I provide literacy training for adults and children in disadvantaged areas with Caritas Internationalis. I also voluntarily give support lessons in chemistry, physics, biology and maths to my little neighbors. I have nostalgia for good French regional cuisine, Mauritian cuisine is a bit okay...so, I cook myself with love for family and friends.

Born and raised at the foot of the Montmartre hill, I lived there until the age of 25 for my military service in the French navy. I studied at the University of Paris (Paris VII University). I played rugby for almost 30 years, today I'm broken all over.
I have spent my entire professional career at the Saclay Nuclear Studies Center. I first worked on the chemistry of uranium, then on the chemistry of water in the lab and in the field. My activities in hydrogeochemistry allowed me to travel around the world and therefore to know Maurice and my wife in 87.
I love the beauty of France. I love good French food. I like French cinema. I love French historical heritage. I like jazz and the clubs of Paris. I like Parisian theaters. I like opera.
I don't like the climate...and I don't like the tax collectors. I don't like the arrogance of the French. (my wife always says, the French are not nice) I don't like racists and idiots.
