Yes its completely fine as long as you have a valid visa. You can do it online on bahrain.bh and it will send to your postal address. I renewed mine after one year- no charges and the usual fee of 10 bd. Read More

if your landlord is Bahraini, then he will have a subsidized rate of municipality- that is also if he registers it. If you need your address on the CPR, you would have to register it under your name. Read More
