About
My expat journey

New York, USA
Grew up in Colombia through age 14, was raised there by nuns, in a convent school. No....I was not an orphan, nor was I trying to become a nun. LOL. Once in the USA, I continued school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. While there, I would go on trips to Mesa Verde in Colorado, as well as the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Long weekends in STA. Fe, as well as Pueblo and Taos,NM. I also remember going on trips with the school to towns in Texas, close to the border. At that time the border was not what it is today. (Thank God) After High school Moved to Poughkeepsie, New York, where I graduated from Marist College (Upstate, NY). Spent one of those four years in Paris. after graduating from Marist, went back to Paris, spent about five years in France. At the present time, my only project is to go to Costa Rica, and spend time there, doing house-sittings. I may have to give up my apartment in Manhattan, which is by Grand Central Station. I've lived and worked here in Manhattan for more than twenty years.
Housewife. Yoga, meditation, travel, and of course, anybody who knows me well, knows that I absolutely love small dogs. If I'm not doing yoga, I'll be giving them massages, bonding with them, when my husband is not home.
Do you mean Costa Rica? Well, photos I've seen are stunningly beautiful. I've been to Hawaii, where I spent three months traveling around Maui, Kawai, and the Big Island. My guess is that Costa Rica is very much like the islands of HI, except maybe for the Big Island, which is drier than the others. I suspect most of Costa Rica's topography and beauty is something like being around Hanna, in Maui. I did one spiritual retreat in each island I went to, in HI. I think I'd be looking for a house close to an ashram, or yoga studios in the area, near my future home.
Well....Right now we live in Manhattan, NYC. Everybody says this is the capital of the world. Parisians think, and also openly say, that Paris is the capital of the world. In Manhattan, one has all the amenities one could ever hope to have. If you can't find it here, most likely you won't find it anywhere else. I used to go to museums and concerts a lot, Dean and I like to go to shows on Christmas time. What I don't like? It isn't so much that I don't like it, as much as missing it..... nature. In my view, paradise would look like the islands of Hawaii. I am not crazy about the humidity in most the USA, nor do I like the desert too much. I love temperate climates. Cool in the morning and night, and warm, with no humidity during the day. I really don't mind showers during the day; that is what makes the forest verdant, lots of flowers, birds singing, and other animals enjoying the abundance and blessings God has provided us with.
