I have lived in Mayotte since August 2008 for 4 years, following the professional transfer of my teacher husband. I am a painter and also do some replacements when needed in colleges. Otherwise I give lessons at home and make the most of the joys of the lagoon. The island is superb, wild. The inhabitants are quite nice but live among themselves and communications are not always easy between communities. I live in the bush in a small village and many residents do not speak French despite their great desire to be French.
