My expat journey

Calgary, Canada
High cost of living but higher salaries than elsewhere. Proximity to the mountains. Cool life. Perfect when you have children.
Alberta is still far from everything and employment is not plentiful there.

Paris, France
Return of 9 months for a contract to lead to a VIE in the USA which did not happen in the end.

Toronto, Canada
Arrival in October 2010. 3 years in Toronto. Lived in two different neighborhoods. (High Park and Islington/Kipling)
Very dynamic city and the largest in Canada. Possible to find a small job quickly. More difficult to find a qualified job without having a lot of Canadian experience.
Absolutely exorbitant cost of living. Buying a small house in 2017 costs an average of $1.56 million and $1.2 million in the suburbs! Salaries also do not follow, making the acquisition of real estate almost impossible.

Paris, France
I was a web project manager in a Parisian communications agency.
Lots of things to do. Museums, parks, outings...
Buying a property when you are young is almost mission impossible, not to mention the very low salaries compared to the cost of living. If you like living in a rabbit cage it's perfect though...!
