My expat journey

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Christchurch City, Canterbury, New Zealand
I went there with a few English words in my pocket, but people gave me a chance to work anyway. I studied and got some certificates just to prove to others that despite my poor English, I wasn't stupid. That gives me the courage to apply to better jobs and find a job in my field of expertise, telecommunications.
I did any labor job I could to pay the bills. I then managed to get a job as a telecommunication technician.
People are great, they are super friendly. I felt very safe, we never locked the front door, we didn't have to.
The economy is good, but there are not many opportunities in the tech industry.

Adapt to move forward - my story on start allover twice by debbio
Hi, my name is Daniel. I grew up in a small town near Bergamo, in the north of Italy. When I was 27 due to the lousy economy, I saw my salary decreased, they cut my bonuses, which I was relying on those to pay my car insurance. Was at that point ...
Thanks, Lo茂c, I apologize, I didn't mean to be negative. I'm the complete opposite. I believe the best things come from suffering. Life itself comes from pain; my mum didn't pop me out with a sneeze! I always push myself to be ... Read More
