Exit Visa?

I applied for a a residency visa extension to my tourist visa. I should be able to pick it up next week.

I expect to leave Egypt and return before the new residency visa is expired. Are there rules that require me to apply for an exit visa, before I leave?

If you have a valid, renewed Egyptian residence permit (residency visa) and are leaving and returning before it expires, you typically do not need a special exit visa. A valid residence permit allows for travel, provided you are not away for more than six months, though you must ensure your passport has at least six months validity remaining.
