Can anyone give me address for a beauty salon for women with English speaking staff here in Tripoli..phone number would be great.Am a newbie here, needing a "hair cut emergency"...went to few but couldn't convey them my issue due to language barrier..thanks

there's the N-ike salon on girgaresh, it's a bit dubious though.

there's an american lady who does brilliant cuts, her name is Sheila and she lives in dahra, or zaweyat addehmani, or something... I'll try and get her number if you're interested.

I'll ask around at work tomorrow and see if anyone has Sheila's number, but if not N!ke seems alright! I've never gotten a cut there but people have given it mixed reviews. It's in the beginning of girgaresh (hay al andalus end), if you're coming from the soug al tholotha way it comes up on the left. You can't miss it, it's a big building with the n!ke tick on, the salon is on the top floor.

Hopefully I'll PM you Sheila's number, she's great

She goes back to the States each year to resupply,and my understanding is that she has not returned yet -- but is usually due to return very soon.

hello ladies, as my husband went to rixos for a haircut, i also decided not to loose time and go waxing. i made an appointment there for 2 o;clock. when i arrived they told me i have to wait 20 min. Then going inside the room, the wax was cold (though she knew i had appoinement), then she said she cannot make bikini area as the "bikini waxing device" is broken(5 star hotel),after a while i also realised the girl was quite a beginner. she did not know much. ok i said, what to do. then we went to pay at the reception, 135 dinnar. 40 for hubby, 25 under arms, and 70 my arms. f***!!!聽 the problem was that on their brochure they had different prices. i got so angry as they did not say anthing before my going inside, and second, on the brochure it was written "full arm 35", which she said represents the price only for one arm. i lost my temper and i told them if it is written "nail polish" you take money for only one nail? if it is聽 written "eye brow" you take money for only one eye brow???? are you the 5 star hotel that you pretend to be? they wanted to make 10% discount but i did not agree, we left 100 dinar and that;s it. i got so sorry for not going to the russian girl's salon. what to do, i was in a hurry as we go tomorrow to sabratha to that beautiful hotel. for 24 hours i will feel out of libya!!! insallah

Was your husband's haircut any good?

I pay 5 dinar including a shave, nasal and ear hair removed in Dahra and go every 6 weeks.

I used to pay a lot in Dubai at the Fairmont but the guy on the corner does a better job.

Opposite the park near the bus station.

Recommended.

Basically it is almost opposite the bus station, just a little bit closer to the Cook Dor side of town (Your Hubby will know where that is). I can vouch for the place as well.

I had my hair butchered two weeks ago, so I am hesitant on getting it fixed up.聽 Any specific stylist you can recommend?聽 Has the shop at Palm City finally opened up?聽 I have seen ads looking for stylist to work there so maybe they have found someone European or Western trained.聽 Thanks in advance for your help!

I went to a Russian lady at the salon above the Niki store on Gargaresh road.聽 She was good.聽 218 092 497 5562, 218 021 728 4318.

It was 20LyD for cut and no dry.聽 I have decided just to color myself.

lit me tell you something you have to show that you know the prices here at the salons for exampel a cut with drying is 20LD a cut only what ever was your cut is 10 LD drying if you have a normal lingth is 10LD DO NOT ECCEPT TO PAY MOR THEN THAT

Guys whatever you buy here specially services like a haircut always ask the price first, if he or she demands more than the usual market rate negotiate or leave. By the way the usual charges for a male haircut are 3 LYD.

It is all right when it is legs, arms or eyebrows but that is a lot for one hair.

if you are talking about full legs only so it is 10 Ld if i is hand and arms so it is 10 as well if it is face 10 eyebrows 10 if you are going to do all the body so it'll b not mor then 80 it starts from 50 to 80 Ld

Okay, so I went to the N!ke place, simple wash cut and blowdry. Very much a business transaction, she asks you what you want and does it, no nattering or timewasting (this is the Russian lady btw)

As for the blowdrying woman, god she was rough. Grabbing at my hair, burning my neck and ears, hitting me with the dryer, poking my eye with the comb.. I swear I did nothing to provoke. Aside from that, she'd stop and chat with random people AND left me with a freakishly bouffant fringe. I had to grab the straighteners and sort it myself.

Satisfied with the cut but the service really wasn't worth 35 dinar.

I suggested this salon to a friend..and since then, am hiding ...She went to do lip threading..The service was swift but then the lady was ruthless..My friend was tearing up, but still wasn't given any time to recuperate....I guess "time is money" is taken very seriously here! before threading, the area wasnt cleaned nor powder was applied..Also post the threading, no cream or icing was applied..no mirror given for customer satisfaction..The job was okay..some hair still remained..but she didnt care as she wanted to escape...probably to choke the life out of me ...Only thing-> it was cheap! 5 dinars..But they are very busy..I wonder why..no taking without appointments..

I also went to the Russian lady above the Niki Store and she was very nice.聽 But as was mentioned above, she was very rough when blow drying the hair.
