Premium Visa- bringing furniture into Mauritius

SMore

Hi All,

Does anyone know if it's possible to bring in my furniture with an import visa? I.e. will the same 90 day free import duties apply?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

@SMore only if you purchase property for USD 375 000 in one of the PDS / IRS / RES / G+2 / SCS schemes (or for USD 500 000 outside one of those schemes), will you be allowed to bring in a shipping container of belongings duty free.

Please note that you are still liable for the costs of the shipping itself (as well as a clearing agent on both sides) so this can easily run MUR 250 000 and is sometimes not worth the money.

Even at higher prices in Mauritius, MUR 250 000 buys you a lot of new (or good quality used) appliances and furniture.

Find out from your airline whether there is not the possibility of bringing in a few large cardboard boxes of the posessions that are the most prized for you at the overweight luggage rate.

I know FlySafair does this from South Africa at the extra cost of ZAR 250 (= MUR 600) per large box,
