Hello everyone!

I am currently looking for expats who would be willing to tell me about their experiences buying property in Mauritius for a newspaper article.

I'm interested in understanding the expat's profile (retiree, professional, digital nomad, family etc), your choices regarding your property (where you have decided to live and why? what was important for you when choosing), how you found the process (I hear it can be rather long!) and what you would do differently if you had to do it all again.

The aim of the article is to give an overview of the process from the expat's point of view and not from what the EDB says it looks like

You can leave your experience below but I'd also be happy to schedule a quick call so I can ask more questions.

It is best if I am able to use your full name for the article, but I can also consider anonymous contributions.

There is still no class action now.I have an agency in Grand Baie but ( prior to be in the business my self ) before that I m a buyer myself in one Evaco's development ( Cap Marina ) . I can explain you what's is currently happening with Evaco.

In which development have you bought with Evaco ?

I would suggest, however, that the story is not complete if it does not include the nightmare that is having purchased a property at Cap Marina.

Hi Paola

I have contacted a lawyer.聽 I was told that the concept of a "class action" suite does not exist in Mauritius.

I also had an appointment with the notary, who is not as "neutral" as claimed.聽 He was supposed to be getting a copy of the bank guarantee to distribute to all of the owners.聽 That evidently has not happened, and my lawyer will be following up.

They are all completely radio silent, so the only information we are getting is via gossip.聽 I will be following up again once I get back to the island.

Did you purchase your property in Cap Marina?
