Being convincing to an employer in Morocco

Hello everyone,

Finding a job in Morocco is no easy feat. From applying for a job all the way to job interviews, the etiquette can be different abroad. Specially job interviews, that can already be pretty daunting, can feel even worse when set in a whole new country. If you聮ve gone through a job interview in Morocco before, how about giving a few tips to someone who might be preparing for one?

Do interviews usually take place in a formal or casual setting in Morocco? Do you have any pointers for job interviews that take place over a lunch or dinner?

From application all the way to the job interview, what is essential to make an candidate stand out?

Culturally speaking, are there specific do聮s and don聮ts? What is the general take on bringing a parent on the job interview or a gift to the interviewer?

Can you tell us a little about your experience? What worked and what did not work for you?

How important is it to have a solid professional network prior to a job interview?

I worked in America 30 years in the Information systems technology. I am now retired, but if I could offer any good suggestions I would say:
1.聽 Polish your r茅sum茅- making sure all your data is updated and correct.

2.聽 A cover letter on to of your r茅sum茅- highlighting what your interest is in working for the employer is.聽 I would express if you are a self-stared, team-player in working with others. I would express how, I if hired could be an asset the the company by listing Projects that were implemented in the past work experience.
This is your time to shine don鈥檛 be afraid to shine.

3.聽 Believe in yourself, I you don鈥檛 believe in yourself who will!聽 Put your best foot forward and dress for the part.

If I were searching for a job here these are the three steps. They have all ways worked for me. I hope my suggestions are helpful.
