Hey I am Senegalese.
Do you have an idea of the reason you can't reach him ? (Phone's off etc ).
If he has been admitted for coronavirus idk how to help you, but my mom was there last year and when you go to the "Accueil" you can leave things for him (they will give it to him (we did that when my mom was there) ) even though you won't be able to see him.
