Weather in April/May

1957pgr

I am thinking of retiring in Cambodia (Siem Reap, Battambang or Kampot) but have heard about a heatwave this year. Having lived in Bali for over a decade I can handle normal hot weather but wonder if I could get some feedback on how bearable it has been or if you have to keep an a/c running 24/7. Or maybe going to Da Lat for a couple of months. Any advice will be appreciated.

I was in the area during all of April, and specifically in Siem Reap between April 25-28. I took a screenshot of a temperature reaching 40 C, with a "feels like" of 47 C one afternoon.

I nonetheless visited Angkor Wat and all other temples during two days. I am 60, in relatively good shape, and can handle the heat pretty well, without feeling like complaining. But yes, it was hot, and I did sweat a lot. AC is necessary in your room for sure.

Nights out felt relatively comfortable though, after a hot day time.
