There are a few recruitment agencies in Indonesia that handle foreign placements, but they’re fairly limited. One example is JAC Indonesia, which mainly works with Japanese companies & many of their candidates tend to come from Japan.

From what I’ve seen in my own work environment, it’s quite rare for people to apply directly from overseas. In many cases, foreign employees come through internal transfers from a company’s headquarters in Japan or from branches in other countries.

Another common path is hiring foreigners who are already based locally. Many were originally assigned to Indonesia by a previous employer, settled in & later moved to another foreign company so they could continue living & working here. Some may start their own company or get involved in social volunteer work, but I’m not entirely sure.
