WFH - Work from home

Fred

The Trump war is causes economic issues in many countries,聽 including Indonesia.

The government is looking at Work from home one day per week in the hope of stretching expensive,聽 and rarer than normal oil supplies.

I expect the government will push forward more Chinese renewable energy projects in the hope of mitigating Trump's mess.

Other options might include home solar that will run a fridge and an AC unit.

Hello Fred,

Do you happen to have any updates on this? It would be great to share any official news on whether working from home has been implemented or not.

Cheers,

Cheryl

Information is pretty limited at the moment.

Some few hours ago, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the policies have been decided and will be announced soon. However, there are no solid details at this time.

It looks like government workers will be asked to WFH on Fridays, but that seems to be more like speculation than fact.

There is no official word about schools and businesses.

Fred

If anyone from government reads this, perhaps an alternative strategy might be to ban ICE vehicles for one day per week rather than stop people working.

EVs are far cheaper to fuel up, and e-bike/e-motorbikes even more so.

My little thing would get me to central Jakarta and back with ease, but it uses almost no electricity to do it.

These things are very common here so disruption would be lessened when compared to WFH.

Fred

East Java has set a WFH for every Wednesday for government employees.

No mention of private companies

Fred

It's starting to look like only civil servants will do this.

Fred

Most civil servants, and a lot in the private sector.

Primary and secondary education will keep a five day week, as will food and other services that can't manage remote work.

Sadly, it's more like POTUS day

I was referring to, and I quote " Piss Off Early Tomorrows Saturday" But then civil servants usually only effectively work a 4 day week anyway. So its 'Plus Ca Change'.
