Called them as soon as I saw your post but they haven't had any stock for about a year.
Looks like I'll have to try to find a hospital that buys stocks from abroad but the many I've tried don't do that at the moment.

I suspect there's a lot more to this that meets the eye.

It might depend on the advice they recieve from their overseas advisors. The MMR is controversial for some so perhaps Indonesia is not sure what to do. I hope you can find it

It seems imports were officially frowned upon a year or so back in favour of local production but the hospitals tell me the factory has no stocks and haven't had for about a year.
Same story at every place.

This is clearly a large problem in Indonesia and one that's reasonably likely to create a very serious issue or millions if an epidemic starts, and one will if this isn't sorted out quickly.
Without putting too fine a point on this, whoever is responsible for this almighty mess is very likely to be just as responsible for a lot of pain and suffering in the coming years.
As far as I can tell, there isn't a single shot available anywhere in this country.

Would you be able to tell me where you found the mmr vaccine? I was planning to take my son to singapore for his 2nd injection, the first he had in Australia. I also have had the same responses as you from the major hospitals in my area of jakarta.

I wasn't going to publish your details, just pass them by private message but I can confirm this small clinic does have the vaccines in stock and the doctors speak English.
I used their services for my son's jabs and feel able to recommend them. My boy will return to complete his course as appropriate.

I don't know if you got an answer.  The vaccine in Indonesia is only MR.  I have just taken my son to Singapore to get MMR - you will not get it here

This is incorrect.
My son had his vaccinations at the above mentioned clinic. Finding MMR is a seriously big problem but I managed and the clinic has posted its contact details so you can go without messing about with fights ... unless you fancy a holiday and need an excuse.

Well I hope you got MMR and not MR.  Most information is that MMR has not been available in Indonesia for 2 years.  My Indonesian doctor helped us to have it in Singapore,

As I said, the clinic offered MMR and we got MMR.
No issues and no trip to Singapore.

And yes, I've checked the drugs given with the manufacturer and all is well.
I'm silly from time to time but I'm not stupid, especially when it comes to my kids' health.

The doctor was very professional, stating all any parent should know about that vaccine BEFORE injecting.

The clinic is small but they were very professional, explaining all the potential issues in whatever detail I asked for.

Beware as Indonesia is known for  selling fake vaccines which are then administered by doctors and clinics. Much safer to get your vaccinations overseas in Singapore or Malaysia.

I will be clear - The clinic mentioned in this thread is using real vaccines.

I tend to recall that there was this massive scam of children's vaccines being supplied to clinics and doctors was centered around Jakarta including the BSD area. It was huge in the news what, about a year ago?  Do you remember that? A lot of people were arrested, and supposedly reputable clinics and doctors were involved.

My children have always traveled overseas to get their vaccinations and that just reinforced out worries that one needs to be careful about things like medicines in Indonesia. Of course I cannot recall the names of any of the clinics involved.

Reminds me also of that foreign physiotherapist, I think it was an American who set up a practice outside Jakarta, one of his patients died, and he fled the country.

Medicine and medical treatment is incredibly important so choose your clinics carefully. Same goes for insurance coverage.

I could be wrong but a few years back or maybe as recently as the last 2 years or so, fake vaccines had been common but in small kampungs out in the sticks etc, again I could be wrong but I don’t think it was happening in the larger or well known hospitals.
You can check on quite a lot of foreign medical imports on batch numbers etc, many places offer you the local manufacturers vaccines or for example from France/ Europe at an extra cost
The local vaccines can be 2 or 3 injections whereas the import ones are singles (usually)
If your child has already received certain injections within 6 months Singapore and Malaysia usually refuse to administer or sell, if you do go down this route take the vaccine book with you as they could refuse to sell to you this way also, also don’t get sucked in with MR (Indonesian) and MMR

I can't remember exactly where it happened but I believe it was in Jakarta and Tangerang, I might be wrong of course. Anyone give an update on this? I believe it was quite extensive and many arrests including doctors. I call it really disgraceful that people get scammed over medical supplies, especially vaccines. I almost moved to Tangerang, BSD actually some years ago (could have been drinking buddies with Fred and Luke) but decided against it. Still I will also choose to have my kids vaccinated overseas as both my wife and I feel that the medical standards are much higher.

Old news is unhelpful to this or any other thread as it's old, out of date, and there have been no new cases.
The thread asked out a specific vaccine, and was answered along with contact details of a safe, professional place to obtain them.

If anyone wants to claim or infer this clinic is anything less than they claim, don't do it here as defamation is a serious issue for the forum and criminal law in Indonesia.

I have used their services, found them polite, professional and known to use real vaccines.
I have no issues with making suggestions of using a hospital or whatever in Singapore, but this place will save people the trip.
