Did you come to Malaysia on a single entry visa (VDR - visa with reference) which was stamped in your passport by the Malaysian High Commission or Consulate in Mumbai, Chennai or Delhi?

What exactly happened?

What kind of job is it and is your salary over RM 3000  per month (its because its means a different type of work permit)?

OK. It is not possible to get the EP stamped if you arrived on a e-visit visa.

You need medical clearance in India and after arrival in Malaysia (xray & bloodtests), Security clearance and you need the VDR stamped in India (mentioned above) to enter for working purposes

*Job scams usually get people to arrive on a tourist visa and trap them in Malaysia.

Make sure you leave before the expiry date of your e-visit visa or you will be deported and banned for 5 years.

*If the employer is legitimate they will apply for a VDR and you can collect it before coming to Malaysia again.
