Give birth in Malaysia without marriage

Hi all,

This is Tess who just in JB 2 month. Now I am pregnant and planning to give birth in Malaysia.

Have some questions need to have your help.

1. Can my kid get the authority to stay in Malaysia as I am a single mom, kid鈥檚 father will not sign any paper or provide any proof.

2. Is there any nominated hospital for foreigners only, or I can give birth in public hospital as well?

3. Expat with EP category 2 can legally give birth, no any issue against the law?

**You can choose a private hospital or any public hospital

3. Expat with EP category 2 can legally give birth, no any issue against the law?
**If you continue to work and have a Category 2 EP you can apply for a Dependent Pass for your child.

Please correct me if I am misunderstanding.

So, as I am holding EP category 2, I can give birth in Malaysia with no problem. My kid can apply Dependent Pass after birth and stay with me聽 even without his father鈥檚 any proof. Correct ?

Contact the Taiwanese Embassy or check their website for details of how to apply for a passport for the child.

I see you are very concerned about this and doubt the member's answer. Isnt there a immigration office you can walk into in JB and ask directly?

Also, im curious, if you are from Taiwan, you are not able to fly now and wait to have the baby in Taiwan? Wouldnt that be easier? Considering the situation of no father, it seems you could end all problems by giving birth in Taiwan. Or is there something else you need to say about your case?
