    Howdy folks, I am a non Filipino that decided on moving to your country after just one visit, the major problem is some of the items I am trying to send to my fiancée simply put does not fit in those boxes , not only that they are already sealed ,in Barrels. Don't worry its non alcoholic but it is food. If I decided to open the barrels to repacking it that would be time consuming and not practical. I need a shipping company that would just ship my items without me having to break it down to fit in boxes!

Welcome to the forum mate.

Why are you sending food? Quarantine laws etc. Border control. If it's food you need to declare and most likely lose part or all of your shipment, we chuck a few boxes of chocolates into Balakbayan boxes and don't declare and never been a problem but if you are talking barrels of food then remember the Xray machines.

these items are not restricted to send, I was buying a lot of Canadian stuff while I was in Manila .. So someone is clearly shipping into the country!

Deal with the sellers shipping into the Philippine, why mention boxes? Balakbayan or other mode of transport if purchased online and available shipping to the Philippines and not restricted. The alarm bells are up and many government bodies monitor this and other sites, careful.

Opening the barrels might be time consuming and not practical but it does make sense. A member of this forum taped together two Baklikbayan  boxes for oversized items. Balikbayan boxes can measure 24x24x18 inches.

What you want to send can be purchased in the Philippines. With an alternate method other than Balikbayan Boxes you should be concerned about taxes because they will be levied once they reach the Philippines and paid by your Fiancee.

Also you should be concerned getting it through customs if not shipped using balikbayan boxes.

Yes Bob shipping Blakbayan boxes we all get away with some things but barrels of honey? Sounds a little commercial to me as well as bio security given Verroa mite etc. A little like sending seeds or meat products without the correct paperwork.

To the OP as Bob suggests, do your home work, If it's simply honey and cleared with bio security you won't have a problem aside from duties and taxes. We get plenty of local honey here and it's much cheaper here than western countries.

Send some decent beef and lamb and you might do well after following the protocols.

I don't know if this will help but I shipped larger items by taping two Balikbayan boxes together which created a 48" tall box. I just had to pay for 2 boxes.

@bigpearl Yes the plan is to set up a commercial business, she is in contact with the local government about business registration licencing and doing all the footwork needed there, I would like to have the business up and running before moving there as my current career which pays me amazing here in Canada, offer little pay in the Philippines. my only problem is finding a shipping company to handle items that are not boxable, as it would be a small business, eventually with the hopes of sending entire shipping containers down the road.

You can rent part container shipments. Talk to a shipping company there and make sure they have a forwarder in the Philippines, makes life easier.

What quantities are you wanting to send? If it's for commercial use/sale then there could be taxes with BIR to consider as well.

What are you going to declare the shipment as?

Find a shipping company that is hooked up with a forwarder here and ask them what to expect, they do it every day.
