How come Colombo Hotels are very expensive ?

I was going through few of the hotels in Colombo for my next trip, but looks these are expensive than anywhere else. like cinnamon, Hilton are above 220 USD level , is this worth or let me know the alternative options

I usually travel for both fun and work

Try Hotel Renuka or Global Towers in Colombo 04. They are a lot cheaper. The 5 star hotels have a minimum rate in Colombo so they can't reduce. But Global Towers may be on your budget. Plus it has good transport connections.

Hi Why not visit the south of Sri Lanka
Have a Grand old colonial villa set in a tropical garden
with swimming pool renting for excellent rate聽

Both business and tourist people stay at Global Towers Residence. And it has some quirky restaurants around the area for real Sri Lankan food: Beach Wadiya where Queen Elizabeth has dined at on the beach! Lovely club called Kinross Club (you do have to get membership) where you can sit by the ocean. THere is a writer's club that meets around there too. Different to Colombo 3, 4, 5 area.

South of SL is really wonderful, so good to get away from City
Their is 16 century galle fort with wonderful hotels
architectural gem, 20 mins from villa, in Hikkaduwa famous for
surfing /diving, lovely beaches, restaurants, and night life
The Villa is set in a tropical garden with pool
