A personal accident insurance is not same as a health insurance. What kind of insurance are we talking about? Being 76 years old is a problem when it comes to health insurances and an even bigger problem when it comes to PA-insurances. Most PA-insurances issued by banks have a 60 years of age limit and some are only available for Thai nationals.

Any recommendation area - near Chiang Mai but in mountains? Maybe half hour or hour by public transport.

Your best bet is to ask these people for advice as they helped me though the minefield that is Medical Insurance and was very happy with them  [link moderated]
