Concerning Workers Permits in Vietnam

jcc1990

My boyfriend is Vietnamese, and I am from the US. In about a year and a half or so, we plan to move back to his home country (he is an international student).

He will be the main breadwinner, and I hope to adapt to living in a new country, however, I'd like to pick up a part time job, and it seems from what I have read that the only way to get a visa that lasts for more than 90 days is to get a workers permit (as well as to legally work in the country).

I've read that you need either a college degree, letters of recommendation from previous employers, and have a clean criminal record. I don't have a college degree. However, I do have extensive experience in the hospitality field (restaurants etc) and can get excellent references.

I currently work for Mcdonald's, which my managers have instructed me that I can get a 'preferred' application' when applying at another one worldwide. So basically, it means that if there is an opening, I will be placed at the top of the list. While I've never gotten arrested,

I had a marijuana charge (it got dropped in court, but it still shows up that it happened) and a few traffic tickets.

I also read that you have to be professional, or a manager in order to qualify for the work visa.

Can you get a visa for doing simple work like in a restaurant?

Do you guys think it would be possible for me to acquire a visa? Are there any other visa options for long term
stays?

Thanks for the help.

visa extension

If you want to come here to work or travel. First thing you have to get a invitation letter, the letter depends on what kind of visa you want, i mean like u can ask for tourist visa, cuz you don't have to pay a lot for business visa. And for a tourist visa, you can extend it every 3 months. And if u want to get a business visa, you will have 1 year visa. But still have to pay a lot money for that. And i think if you wanna have a part time job here, don't get business visa when you come here. Good luck.
