[HCMC] Obtaining a work permit with insufficient work experience

Hi,

I recently got a job offer from a company. Now that I accepted the offer, they sent me a list of documents that I need to submit for them to process my work permit.

One of the requirements is a certificate that shows at least 3 years of work experience. My problem is that I currently only have 2 years of experience. I'm pretty sure they were aware of this because my work experience was stated in my CV and I went through a whole round of interview with the manager and HR.

Is it still possible to get a work permit in my situation? Is there any way around this?

Thanks

No legal way to get around it.

The employer should take care of the work permit, it sounds like this is an internal requirement

Dependind on your job kevel the requirements vary - see the following

Have you communicated this with your HR? I think they can find a work around like ask for additional requirements, like maybe training certificates or seminars you鈥檝e attended that鈥檚 relevant to your job.
I had a similar issue before, but my situation is I don鈥檛 have a degree so instead, they asked for a total of 5 years work experience proof of documents.

"For expert working under labor contracts
- Bachelor鈥檚 degree and certificate of at least 3 years of experience relevant to the job position expected to work in Vietnam, or;
- Have at least 5 years of experience and practice certificate relevant to the job position expected to work in Vietnam, or;
- Decided by the Prime Minister at the request of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs."

Regarding the certificate of at least 3 years of experience, do they want certified paperwork from prior employers now?

"1.聽 聽Special cases of applying for re-issuance of work permits: ...
-聽 聽 聽 The worker works for another employer at the same job position and job title;"

Anyone know if there is a time limit on renewing old work permits?

Here is an article as of today (24/04).聽 It seems that "or" 5 years is no longer operative word but that a degree is required.聽 聽 聽 I'm not saying this is right or wrong but it would make the requirement for industrial "experts" in line with those for ESL teachers.

An interesting change to the WP process is those who are married to a local don't need to apply for work permit.
