Dogs to the DR

We have two large Bernese Mtn Dogs and are in the process of purchasing a place either around Cabarete or Las Terrenas. we plan to travel to the DR around Oct and returning around May each year. They are too large to travel in the allocated dog crates that fit onto the 737 planes that travel there. Is there any way of travelling on a cargo ship or ferry from Florida to the DR? Thanks Don.

@dmaclennan11 I can't help with the dogs, but I have owned a property in Playa Bonita for聽 20 years that I'm selling.聽 I know the area very well. I like it more than Cabarete! But, that's just me. Both are beautiful. DM if you want to talk.
