Where does the Frozen Fish Basa come from?

Does anyone know where the frozen Basa Fish comes from?聽 I read online it comes from Vietnam where it is farmed in the most polluted rivers!聽 Yuk!聽 No wonder its so cheap here.....Maybe the frozen Mero fish would be a better choice?

The Sea Bass also know as Mero here all comes frozen and yes most if from Vietnam. These two are the same fish.

Why are they importing fish from Vietnam when we live on an Island surrounded by ocean?聽 How do we get local fish then I wonder?

Well to get local fish find the local fish market. We have about 5 of.them here in La Romana.

Yes you can get fresh fish here every day.聽 Usually Mahi-mahi, chillo (red snapper), parrot fish, tuna, and others.

Thanks Bob.....I think there is a fresh fish market in Charamicos?聽 I have not been there yet.....but I will ask our taxi driver!

Yes there is one there and also on the main highway at the Mulata Rd turn on most mornings there is a guy there selling his catch from that morning.聽
