I can't see a problem w/ industrial or work related.

When in doubt - Ask the mudanza directly
Awilda has some English speakers on staff
But be aware - it's quite a Domincan situation

In the NYC area, they came to our apartment, packed it & shipped it.
Flat fee - after our residency allotment - years after.

Personally,I bring in what ever I can because we get a better selection and cheaper prices in our home countries and I go through customs like a tourist and I don't I speak Spanish.I don't give them a reason to open up my luggage.,but I'm old school been going there for years,I never trust Customs/aduanas

I do the same but found the 55 gallon plastic drums more secure and family can use them for back up water or sell them.

I'm in NY,this companies are local in my hood and the Bronx, Manhattan, Jersey.You either buy directly from the shipping company or can buy them from my local Latino market,they come in two sizes.

I use Salcedo shipping,I believe their up and down the east coast.,but Google door to door service.

The mudanza has the barrels .....
Awilda is $135/barrel as I remember - stuffed as full as you want

They'll do all the packing

Taxes, duties on barrels I suspect? You have to declare or list everything in the barrel?
That's our reason for stuffing our return suitcases as much as possible. Hopefully we will not get stopped at airport.

Hmm...good deal. Wish the barrels were square. LOL. Harder to fit stuff in a round barrel. But we'll need to look at this further since we need to import stuff for the household聽聽

They also pack in heavy cartons.... for odd, larger sizes

As for their reputation - I speak for myself..... a 10-11 yr customer
Fridges, stoves - u name it

Once a fridge arrived w/ a broken tube t the back.
They took it back to STI and it returned the next day - Fixed !!
No charge

Yes, it's it always better to bring items in your suit cases just walk it like a tourist, speak no Spanish, play stupid and yes you can ship in boxes just find it more secure to ship in a barrel

These are boxes that are used for stoves/fridges/etc..... Strong

Really depends on your cargo.... and , trust me , these guys know what they're doing

I hate playing roulette w/ the Aduana - easier/safer this way -- IMO

Let me just state for the record that you have to have a solid recommendation from someone here for a shipper.聽 We used one based in LA and we were robbed.
You can buy almost any tool here.聽 They carry mostly Makita but go to SD or Santiago to a large ferreteria or bring the tools on the plane.聽 Stay away from customs at all costs!聽 They are criminals and they don't care who knows it.

Just an update on our travels.
We arrived in Punta Cana with 4 large suitcases filled to the brim with household items and a queen mattress in a box. No issues coming through immigration. They did scan the box and the porter that was pushing my 85 year old mother-in-law told him it was for the 鈥渙ld lady鈥�, he waived us on! The porter and the gentleman pushing my mother in law were wonderful!

Went to get our electricity set up on a Monday and it was turned on by Wednesday. Also went to Claro for internet and cable that never happened,lol, they wanted to install after we had returned home.聽 Also went to the bank to open an account, never heard back from them( not the friendliest) better luck next visit.
Next visit hoping to bring my old bicycle!

Anyone in the PC area know where to get a golf cart?

Recently somebody asked me to bring down an item for them. In order to do so , I would have had to to put it in stored luggage instead of my usual carry on only bag.聽 I would have had to pay an extra $25US for the stored bag, plus the hassle.聽 Yet that guy though it fine that I subsidize his purchase to save him paying a bit more for it in the dr.

@WillieWeb so you are saying $135 and it arrives at your door in the Dominican from NY. Anything you can fit in the drum? No duty no tax? Do you bring items to them in NY location, and they pack it?
