registered 5 dec 2024
changed to "waiting for documents" on 30 jan 2025
Has someone applied for their spouse and holds a belgian nationality?
Can i please know the timeline ?
I am having stress!!!
Today my spouse application also moved to approval on submission of additional document. Can you please let me know how to do it . Appreciate your reply , Thank you .
This doesn't necessarily mean you have to do something. It could be they are waiting for some other public instance to deliver documents. You can call them on 02/488.80.00 and they will explain it to you. They told me in the case they need documents delivered by you or your spouse they would contact you. It never hurts to call and ask friendly.
Here you can find when their callcenter is open:
Not yet. I got notified the police started an investigation...I'll have to go there to do an interview. Well, so be it. I have nothing to hide.

Hi everyone, does anyone have any news/updates regarding their application for family reunification? I applied on Nov 26th, 2024, and the application was reflected on the IBZ website on Jan 9th. Since then, I have not received any updates. My spouse and I are both non-EU having limited work permit (A card).

Hello,
Me & my spouse applied for the visa same time. my visa got approved but my spouse visa sent to decision to the Belgian authorities which is usually not the case. can anyone let me know why this happened & what will be the processing time in this case? please help
@Abhimanyu_143
It is Same as our scenario, usually when you apply together the approval is received together. But this time my spouse received passport with visa stamped within 2-3 days.
And I am still awaiting response.
We applied in January 2025
Do you all know if contacting immigration lawyer may help in speeding the process.
@SukanyaMule
This is really disturbing and my friend & his wife applied same time we did but both received their visa at the same time. you applied in January and still no update? yes we should do something. did you company HR helped in this case?
@Abhimanyu_143
No company HR was unable to help in this case.
I can see status on the dofi it is in treatment.
After wait of 3 months now, we my spouse has planned to travel alone and once I receive my visa then I will travel later.
@SukanyaMule
can you let me know where are you checking ? because i am unable to open the link.
@Abhimanyu_143
Sometimes the link does not work if you have firewall or some settings in your browser
Update on Spouse Visa Application Process
Dear All,
I wanted to share a quick update regarding the spouse visa application process, as I know some of you may be facing similar concerns like me.
As you may be aware, both my spouse and I submitted our visa applications same time. While my visa has been approved, my spouse’s application has been forwarded to the DVZ (Belgian Immigration Office) for further review.
This situation has arisen due to a new regulation introduced by the Belgian government, where if the main applicant does not meet a certain salary threshold, the dependent’s application is automatically escalated to the DVZ. Unfortunately, this change was not communicated in advance to any companies, which is why several applications — including ours — are now facing unexpected delays.
Our company’s HR team has already escalated the matter to DVZ and is actively seeking clarification. A meeting has been scheduled with the authorities next week, as this issue is currently affecting numerous applications globally.
Please do not feel disheartened — this delay is not specific to you or your application. It is a result of a recent policy change, and efforts are being made to address it.
Thank you for your understanding, and I hope this information brings some clarity to the current situation.
Hi ,
We got an update from embassy that we need to provide registered rental agreement.
Does anyone have idea about registered rental agreement... We submitted general agreement which is not registered.
Please give me your valid suggestions
Thnks
@Sk2025
I think your landlord needs to register your rental contract on minfin.
