No response for permanent residence

aquajack22

Dears,

Hope you all have a great 2024.

I was checking to get some feedback on my situation. Perhaps it can help me move forward.

As it's more than 7 years continuously, I had applied for PR ( L card) freshly in Schaerbeek commune and received by Bis 16, which also clearly states the ministry has to decide by 5 months. It's more than 8 months now since I received Bis 16.

When we visited the commune thinking that we can ask for PR ( like many forums here suggest) as it's more than 5 months, we have been sent back twice saying we need to wait for a response.

Meanwhile however managing here with a single permit A card which has three year validity. And since it's 3 year tenure expires this coming Aug, I was really hoping to get the PR to avoid having to submit another single permit application.

Now, what do you feel are the best options I have here considering my inputs provided.

And why my commune doesn't provide it to me as it's 8 months since the application. What are my rights here.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

You will get a response before expiry of your current RP.

Hi,

This situation started to arise since end May 2023 I believe.

the initial rule or expectation that we will get an L card after the default 5 months is no longer valid. Now, the final decision needs to come from the ministry.

The only thing you could do is to follow-up with your commune and see if they can call the ministry to have your document checked.

I am not sure if there are other ways that could help you.

It's not an expectation if it is clearly stated in the official document delivered to him .. isn't it ?
