Researchers Job search 1 year residency - Orientation year

AlanSparrow

Hello,

I was reading about the orientation year for researcher, and I'm confused about the amount of money needed for a single person living alone, and can it just be in a bank account of that person ? meaning just printed statement ?

Thanks in advance !

Hi, the amount is equivalent to living wage. A single person as of 01 May 2024 is 1,288.46 euros at the minimum (link: ).

Indeed the orientation year after research is not clear on what are the accepted proof of living wage, but the website of Stad Gent mentioned (1) blocked account at an accredited research institution or

(2) own resources (e.g. employment contract for the planned orientation year).
