L card : job change after approval

Hello,

I applied for Lcard in October 2025 and in March 2026 after 5 months of waiting i went to the commune (molenbeek). Who told me they didn't recieve any news from immigration so i will automatically be granted the L card. I recieved a note saying I need to bring my old residence permit and new pin code which will be sent by post and come collect my L card.

It's been a month and I haven't recieved the pin code. I have left my old job in the meantime and found a new job which I am hoping to start beginning of may.

I have an annexe 16 and the note from the commune telling me to wait for the pin code. What can I do to start working already? Can I get an annexe 15? My old card has not expired yet but is a single permit :/

Hello .

Did you go to the commune to actually pay for the new card?

the pin codes from the moment you order the card should not take more than 2/3 weeks it's clearly not normal that you haven't received them .Also, when you go to the commune to give your old card and order the L card, they automatically give you an annexe 15.

So, I believe since you have obtained your lon term residency , you are allowed to work while in posession of your Annexe 15..

Postal strike is going on for 24 days now. In Brussels..they are NOT DELIVERING ANYTHING for 24 days.

Hii yes I payed the normal procedure for the card. Do you think I can now go back to the commune and pay again to fastrack the process, I remember it's something like 100 eurs. I start working at the new job in May and I don't want to delay.  I also thought you only get an annexe 15 when your current card expires and you're waiting for a new one. My current single permit is not expired

The strike thing makes sense now which is probably why the pin codes have been delayed.

@Akshaya Ayp

That can be asked only at the time of applying the card. Ask commune again. They might help you.

weird.. I live in Flanders we are receiving our mail normally here I think Brussels is mostly impacted.

‘If I were you I would go to the commune and ask if you order the urgent card.

@Naouel cherif

Thats what happenes when people don't research..in flanders, 90% mails are being delivered . If something is being sent from federal government then it WON'T reach u..as it has to pass through brusssels.

Wallonia hs 50% mail delivery. Brussels 0%.

@pranav2424

There is no proof whatsoever that the card is being sent from Brussels. Sure the known company Zetes that makes these cards has its HQ in Brussels , but it does not mean that the card is sent from their HQ. Therefore, if it is sent from another commune in Flanders from example , it makes sense that it will not arrive to a commune in Brussels at the moment since 90% of employees in Brussels are on strike.

hello, I just went to the commune and they said they're indeed having issues with the bpost due to the strike so they will ask for the copy of the code to be directly sent to the commune by next wednesday. Apparently my card is already arrived in the commune so they said to come checkin next week wednesday or thursday. She said there are several issues due to the bpost strike so they're doing what they can to mitigate it.

@pranav2424

Just wanted to let you know that I received my PIN codes after exactly one week. I live in Flanders .

so the news you gave on « if it’s being sent from Brussels we will not receive is not correct since not all cards come from Brussels .
