AC recharge kit for my car

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy an R134a AC recharge kit for my car? I'm located near Burgas, but can't find anything online as to where I may be able to get one. My local garage says nobody sells them in BG.

I've never seen them here in HU but you can get them in Halfords in the UK. I've used them myself. To be honest, it's not worth it. In Halfords the returnable cylinder is like 拢80. Plus the adaptor and meter. You cannot take the cylinders on a plane.聽 They are under pressure. Road, fine but really should have a warning sign on the back of the聽 vehicle.

If the gas has leaked out probably there's a leak or the seals have dried out. Its not like the system uses it up like engine oil. It's a sealed pressurised syatem. People should run their airco all year to make sure the special PAG oil keeps the seals wet.聽 Airco is still useful in winter to remove condensation. Best off leaving on regularly all year or using the climate control.

You're better off taking the car to an airco specalist. They have all the adaptors and meters to ensure its working OK. They also have leak detection equipment, spare compressors, clutches, driers and bits.

You are almost certain to find someone. R134A is standard for modern domestic airco so it's easy to source. It's just the adaptors. The meters are easy to buy - Yellowjacket is a known聽 brand. Larger cylinders and PAG oil are alo easy to get. A big聽 issue for DIY repairs is the cost of a very low vacuum pump. If you use a specialist, make sure they put the oil in and test the electric clutch and sensors etc.

If you're working on聽 Skoda or VW describe the symptoms. There are quick fixes for those cars for some common issues.

I had my local service garage go ahead with a full recharge. 155lev.

Not bad price.

And I bet they fully tested it for leaks, used a vacuum pump, put the oil in etc.

It's easy to do if you have the gear.

Yeah they did all that.
