The whole village has no water? Have you tried to speak with your neighbours or the Mayor?

JimJ

Your local water company should have a website where all outages, both planned and unexpected, are listed, usually under "袗胁邪褉懈褟". There should also be contact numbers to call.

It comes under VIK Dobrich, looks like it was scheduled to be off Tuesday, number to call them will on the site too.

The ViK site shows that Snop was off yesterday, but nowhere in the Toshevo area is on the list today. Unfortunately that doesn't mean anything, we've gone three days with no water with our village never being listed on the site at all, only nearby villages.

Do your neighbours know what is happening? If you aren't confident enough about your Bulgarian to make a phone call (that would be me, too!), maybe someone could help you?

The other issue if your house is higher up than others in the village could be low water pressure. We have found a few times that our neighbour at the bottom of the hill has water and we don't. Our plan is to install a water tank.

We now keep a week's worth of bottled drinking water in the house plus plenty of refilled bottles of tap water to use for washing, loo, etc. as unfortunately Dobrich ViK are not at all reliable.

I hope you get the water back on soon!

That would be my first point of contact: ask the neighbours. If we lose power, we see if the street lights are out, and then turn to Facebook and ask in our Town's group if we didn't have Facebook, then we would ask the neighbours. That would be on the first day, might sound harsh, but why wait a week to ask the question?

I see Snop is listed on the incident list at the ViK today (and was added yesterday), so hopefully they are doing something about it.

The weather isn't exactly conducive to working on the water system -- for well over a week it's stayed below freezing with a few inches of snow and ice on the ground. Unfortunately they may not be able to fix it till things thaw a bit.

Megs, I hope you are surviving there. I think I recall from previous posts you might have had some problems with the neighbours there, which makes it far harder. If talking to neighbours isn't an option, maybe try the kmetstvo or the village shop? Google Translate is a blessing!

Do save all your drinking water bottles to refill from the tap as soon as the water comes back on. It makes getting through a water outage far easier.
