Translation service

I also need to find a service that will make phone calls to change the details on utilities accounts. Aka I haven't changed our water and electric or tax yet. I paid a loca service and it's yet to be done! The previous owner is understandably frustrated with us for this taking a crazy amount of time to get done.

Can anyone recommend a services that's reliable please

I can't make a recommendation on any service I have personally used, but have you taken a look here?

If you're in the country just download one of the Instant Translation apps onto your phone and DIY it...or you can get one of the AI apps to translate a letter you write explaining what you want to hand to the person at the utility company or whatever..

Suzi, I had my neighbour's help to do the water, our VIK office is still stuck in the Communist era. But I managed the electricity on my own with no problems, despite my lack of Bulgarian and her lack of English. The estate agent was super helpful with the tax -- she filled in the form for the council and emailed it to me, so I just needed to print that out and take it to the office. I asked her about doing the electric and water for me, but she said she couldn't without a POA, which was going to be more hassle than going and doing it myself.

I doubt this can be done by phone, because I had to go into the offices for all three. My neighbour tried phoning the VIK for me, but personal attendance was needed. And at both offices they wanted to see so much paperwork! Notary deeds, company formation stuff, passport... I used Google Translate to get started and took all my paperwork with me and handed over the lot so they could sort through and find what they wanted.

Changing the payment online to my name via epay was easy, but I do think you will need to go to the offices of the water and electric board, or send a reliable helper. But I think they will need all the paperwork, so if you can, it's better to do it yourself.
