Building management meeting minutes

Hi, can anyone advise on how many years a joint buildings management committee must keep AGM & general meeting minutes for?

Anyone????

I don't know, but maybe some of the other residents keep old minutes? Have you asked around?

I would think they would need to held for at least ten years - with most being in a digital format with receipts and warranties scanned does it really matter if they are not taking up physical storage

In Cyprus, there is no specific legal requirement stipulating the exact number of years that a Jointly Owned Building's Management Committee must retain minutes from Annual General Meetings (AGMs) and general meetings. However, it is considered best practice to keep these records indefinitely for historical reference, transparency, and legal purposes.

The standard agenda for an AGM typically includes:

Quorum check

Election of meeting president and secretary

Approval of minutes from the previous AGM

Presentation of committee accounts

Election of the committee

Any other business

Proper documentation and retention of meeting minutes are essential for ensuring that decisions are well-documented and accessible when needed. Therefore, it is advisable for committees to maintain these records for an extended period, even indefinitely, to serve as a reliable historical record of the building's management and decisions..

I agree with Telf as I think holding for at least 10 years is not unreasonable.
