if  not its private healthcare which is more expensive the older you are

you can get a minimal cover policy that satisfies the immigration dept for your yellow slip for residency - at a coast  165-€185 per year each

just make your appointment by taking your passport in person they will give you a ticked list of documents appropriate to you which you will need to register - the only thing now is they are asking for apostilled documents......

Does that mean no health insurance or very expensive health insurance

Health care pre pension age is conditional on contributions made to the republic of cyprus - post pension age depends on any agreements your home country may have with cyprus = otherwise its private healthcare unless you work and make contributions but that is subject to three years contributions being made.

health insurance is not cheap here depending on package taken  we took one to get our alien registration certificate 4 years ago and its was €800 each per year (bronze package) but that has since increased quite a bit and the older you are the more expensive it gets.

private ambulance cover is also important as state ambulances dont necessarily know where you are  as there are no real accurate postcodes here
