English Document Certification

I am an Australian currently living in France, I need to authorise a Australian transaction by getting my passport and two bank statements certified by a notary, justice of the peace or magistrate. I've been to a notary but they are only able to write the confirmation statement in French but I need it written and signed for in English. The only option that I've been told I have is to get the English statement confirmed by an authorised tranlator then take it back to the notary to confirm.
Before I go through with this time consuming option I thought I'd check to see if anyone else has an easier suggestion.聽 I live 20 minutes outside Angouleme if that makes any difference.
Any ideas are gladly appreciated

I have gotten over nite action from this website send PDF scans of your docs to them and they will email and send hard copies.

Sorry matey, you are in France and have to slow down and go with the procedure no matter what or how much it irks you. Have the paper work in English and get it translated by a local certifier and it鈥檒l cost you 鈧�50-200 depending upon number of pages. Strike up a relationship with the certifier so that you can email them with scanned docos so they can email you the translation. Pain in the bum but it becomes reasonably straight forward after you鈥檝e done it a few times. Hope this calms you down and puts your mind in French mode.
