This was my movie today:

The Silence is a 2019 post-apocalyptic horror film directed by John R. Leonetti and starring Kiernan Shipka, Stanley Tucci, Miranda Otto, and John Corbett. The screenplay by Carey and Shane Van Dyke adapts the 2015 horror novel of the same name by Tim Lebbon. The film depicts a world under attack by creatures who hunt by sound. Shipka plays a deaf teenager who seeks shelter with her family, and a cult tries to take advantage of her fertility.

I primarily watched it because Stanley Tucci was in it.聽 Bit of a soft spot for him as he lives in London and is married to Felicity Blunt, sister of Emily Blunt, the famous actress.聽 Anyway, he's quite popular on UK TV programmes.聽 I find him sympathetic.

- Watched this remake of The Poseidon adventure for my afternoon movie.聽 It聽 was on Netflix.聽 The computer generated graphics are not really up to much.聽 Cast is not bad. All it did for me is make me feel like I needed a brain dead swim due to the current heatwave. I watched it while searching flight schedules.聽 Online reviews say it was a box office bomb. It has all the cliches - the whinging kid, the panicky Mom, the uptight yet strong Dad and the mysterious hustler.聽 Jeez, gimme a break.

Plot

In an unnamed European city, a young mother is fatally stabbed in the neck in front of her son by a passing migrant. A news report states that parents are afraid to let their children play outside and that women avoid going out after dark.

Sanders is a former U.S. Army officer who moved to Europe after inheriting his estranged father's real estate business. I finally got around to watching .

It's a slow moving ponderous movie which will not strain your brain.

But it kind of leaves you without any real resolution for the participants.

Yup. Part of the vigilante/revenge genre, right up there with Dirty Harry, The Equalizer, and Inglourious Basterds.

Saw the movie at the cinema yesterday.

Really, don't bother.聽 Really hyped up for a certain age group (sort of 16-25 year old age group). We went with our soon to be 21 year old.

Absolutely stunned me it's made over $220M at the box office.聽 I give it 3/10 for those involved, just 3/10 for turning up to make it.聽 I was thankful my bladder was big enough to last 1h 49m.聽 聽I did nod off twice and started dreaming of some work in my garden.

The director is called Curry Barker.聽 Why choose the name Curry?聽 Weird thinking. I suppose it's marginally better than Spaghetti-Bolognese Barker.聽 Or Cheese-on-Toast Barker.

I had a look at Lamont at Large.聽 聽Quite a lot of videos there. I watched the Route 66, Charlie Kirk and a couple of other ones.聽 Looks like some places attract death.聽 I was no fan of Charlie Kirk etc but amazing detail on the video.聽 I don't agree with Kirk's views so don't feel any sense of loss whatsoever.

I'm obtaining the Death Wish 2018 movie but it's miserably slow and a very large file.聽 I hope the movie is as "big" as the file.

My connection to Bruce Willis is extremely tenuous. I went to buy some metal at a steel stockholder in Kelenfold and because we were speaking English the sales person asked if it was for Bruce Willis.聽 Apparently, movie technicians had been in there before to get聽 some stuff.聽 Bruce was making a movie at one of the studios.聽 聽Never saw him even from a distance. BTW, Demi Moore's nickname in Hollywood is/was "Gimmie" More.

My mother always thought Bronson looked grimy and dirty.聽 No idea why. Since then, if we see anyone vaguely resembling Bronson gets the nickname.聽 This includes a visitor to one of our neighbours.聽 聽He doesn't need that label but we don't know his name.

Update:

I managed to watch Death Wish 2018 with Bruce Willis.聽 It was my "afternoon-hide-from-the sun" movie.

It was OK. It's probably better than the Bronson version.

My only complaint is the 3.5 GB file size.聽 聽I really don't聽 know why people don't use proper techniques to make their files smaller with no loss of quality.

I've read about people making buckets of money doing YT shows.聽 I would think it would work if one has 100K+ followers. I am wondering about what the minimum is.聽 聽I've seen they get promotion money for inserting sponsorship links and small videos inside their output.聽 I wondered about doing it myself.聽 I've got a lot of contacts in the area of my knowledge.聽 Many specialists I could call upon for interviews and round tables.聽 聽

I think I need to up my video editing skills.聽 I'm watching some guy travelling to icy Siberia in a tiny VW car set up as a camper.聽 聽His videos drop really slowly though and there's no sense of momentum in the past months.聽 His videos are only 20m long or so.聽 .聽 He goes other places like Switzerland.聽 He's got a good presenting style which is quite engaging but the videos are coming too slow.

BTW, I think Mr Lamont has expressed some suspect views.聽 In other words, he said some Trumpist things.聽 He's immediately lost credibility when that happens.
